I originally stumbled across this breed when looking for a dog to do Schutzhund with. Why not one the standard breeds for the sport? Well I can't stand slobber and I'm not a fan of hair (yes Mals shed too much for my liking). Why not the Doberman? The more I looked into them the more I became disinterested do the the vast number of known health problems occurring even within well bred lines.
Rieka is the first CRD I imported and I fell in love. This breed is so eager to learn, truly enjoys working, has energy to go for hours yet has that highly sought after "Off-Switch".
I'm
My dogs are all active and compete in a variety of dog sports. I am part of 3 local dog clubs and actively train for schutzhund, agility, and scent detection.
By profession I'm a dog trainer and am self employed which allows me to take time off when I have litters giving them all of my attention. Starting on day 3 we do ENS training. A modified puppy culture program is used with an emphasis on enviornmentals. All puppies are introduced to the leash, a clicker, luring, crate trained, desensitized to nail clippers/dremmel, extensively socialized, and litter box trained.
I prefer to keep the pups until 12 weeks of age to assure they get proper socializing and multiple vaccines, but if you have a plan to keep up on such things I'd be willing to allow them to go home as early as 9 weeks.

The Laizhou Hong is still very new to the Western world so they are quite expensive. Starting a breeding program is a huge investment and very risky. Some have tried but got inferior stock that produced horribly dysplastic puppies.

There are very limited health tested quality bloodlines in the world and we're still in the beginning stages of setting the foundation of this breed. So its important those of us located in the US work together to assure we don't cause them to become an inbred genetic mess.
Occasionally we will have an older pup available that did not fit our breeding program expectations for a variety of reasons. If the pup has too many faults or didn't meet our health screening process they will be sold for a discounted price. (See Available dogs for more info)
